Terms of Service
By booking a yacht charter with Chicagoland Yacht Rental, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
Booking & Reservations
- All charters require a minimum 4-hour booking
- A 50% deposit is required to secure your reservation
- Remaining balance is due before departure
- Maximum capacity is 13 guests per yacht (Coast Guard regulation)
Cancellation Policy
- 15+ days before charter: Full refund minus 5% processing fee
- 7-14 days before charter: 50% refund
- Less than 7 days: No refund
Captain Requirements
All charters require a licensed captain. After booking, you will receive a list of pre-approved, Coast Guard certified captains. You are responsible for contacting and hiring a captain directly. Captain fees are paid separately to the captain.
Weather Policy
Charters operate in most weather conditions. If waves exceed 5 feet or conditions are deemed unsafe by the captain, the charter may be rescheduled subject to availability. No refunds are issued for weather-related cancellations.
Security Deposit
A refundable security deposit of $750 is required for all charters. This deposit will be refunded within 7 business days after the charter, provided no damage or excessive cleaning is required.
Guest Responsibilities
- Follow all captain instructions and safety guidelines
- No illegal substances on board
- Guests are responsible for any damage caused during charter
- Arrive 15 minutes before scheduled departure
- Late arrivals may result in shortened charter time
Food & Beverages
Guests are welcome to bring their own food and beverages aboard. Excessive cleanup requirements may result in deduction from the security deposit.
Liability
Chicagoland Yacht Rental is fully insured. However, guests participate in all activities at their own risk. We recommend all guests know how to swim and follow safety guidelines provided by the captain.
